  TO LOVE AND BE LOVED In Sanskrit, the heart chakra is called  Anahata , which means  unstruck .   The seed of this chakra is located at the heart and includes the lungs and thymus.  The main focus of this centre is love and relationships, self acceptance and the right to love and be loved.  A heathy heart chakra provides balance, compassion, self acceptance and good relationships. The element is AIR . To be in harmony here we need to be expansive, have loving and supportive relationships and care for others. The characteristics of excess in this chakra include codependency, poor boundaries, jealousy and possessiveness.   TO ACT In Sanskrit, the solar plexus chakra is called  Manipura , which means  lustrous gem . The seed of this chakra is located at the celiac plexus which is a system of radiating nerves and ganglia in the pit of the stomach. The main focus of this centre is power and will, self definition and the right to act.  A heathy solar plexus chakra provides vitality, strength of will, spontaneity, purpose and positive self esteem. The element is FIRE .   To be in harmony here we need to trust in ourselves and our power to choose our destiny as well as take responsibility for the consequences of our actions.   The characteristics of excess in this chakra include dominating, controlling, constant activity, scattered and aggressive.   TO FEEL In Sanskrit, the sacral chakra is called  Svadhisthana , which means  sweetness .   The seed of this chakra is located in the lower abdomen and includes the genitals, reproductive organs and hips. The main focus of this centre is our emotions and sexuality, self gratification and the right to both want and to feel.  A heathy sacral chakra provides fluidity, feeling, pleasure, and healthy sexuality. The element is WATER . To be in harmony here we need to respect our emotions and embrace our sexuality as natural and beautiful.
